At our school, within the framework of English Language Week, a series of engaging intellectual games aimed at developing students’ logical thinking skills were organized by the English teacher G.Zh. Saginova.
A 20-minute break-time game called “Think or Lose” was held for students of grades 7–8. During the game, students created English phrases based on selected pictures and also identified countries using given images. These tasks helped to improve their thinking speed, language skills, and creativity.
In addition, the “Mind Masters” intellectual game was conducted among 10th-grade students. A team of 6 students took part and answered logical and intellectual questions prepared by 8th-grade students and English teachers. During the game, team members communicated fluently in English and confidently expressed their ideas. Each correct answer was rewarded with 1000 tenge.
As a result of the intense competition, the team won with a score of 6:3
Such activities significantly contribute to increasing students’ interest in learning and developing their creative and critical thinking skills.
